Cursor, Claude Code, or Windsurf?

An editor trial is more useful than a feature list. The best choice for a team depends on how people navigate code, make changes, and review the output.

01

Run the same development task

Try a small fix, a multi-file change, and a task in an unfamiliar part of your repository. Count accepted changes and time to review. Notice how well each tool follows local instructions and recovers from mistakes.

02

Check the billing boundaries

Compare seats, included usage, overages, model access, and bring-your-own-key options where available. Verify current documentation. Don't assume a discounted API balance can pay for a particular editor subscription.

03

Keep the trial honest

Choose a limited pilot with representative developers. Include repository privacy, administration, and onboarding in the decision. A faster demo is not enough if the team spends longer correcting or verifying generated changes.
